Course Description
Our Neonatal Life Support (NLS) course is designed for healthcare professionals who may be required to assist or lead in the resuscitation of newborn babies. The training is delivered one-to-one, allowing for tailored teaching, individual feedback, and maximum hands-on practice.
Course Overview
This course follows the latest Resuscitation Council UK guidelines and is taught by a Neonatal Nurse who is also a Resuscitation Council UK Trainer.
Participants will gain the confidence, knowledge, and skills needed to recognise and manage newborns who require life support, with a strong emphasis on practical skills and real-life scenarios.
Key Learning Objectives
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Recognise newborns who require resuscitation.
Follow the NLS algorithm step by step.
Demonstrate effective airway management, including bag–mask ventilation and supraglottic airway use.
Perform chest compressions using the two-thumb encircling technique.
Use oxygen appropriately: start with air, increase to 100% if compressions are required, and titrate to target saturations.
Provide safe and effective post-resuscitation care, including stabilisation, monitoring, and transfer.
Apply NLS principles in both term and preterm infants.
Certification
Certificate of completion issued on the day (soft copy available if required).
